Friendly, Efficient and Accessible Service

The above title pretty much sums up Metro Bank. Following a bad experience with a previous bank, I was left in a very stressful situation. Walking in off the High Street into my local Metro branch (Croydon), I was instantly given the human touch. I was listened to, an appointment made to speak with a business manager and within 3 days I had an account opened that is right for my community interest company. I love the fact that Metro continues the tradition of making banking easy for all and making that person to person contact a key part of their service. Reviewed on: 6th April 2023

Metro is everything that my old bank is not.

The traditional banks have lost the plot. While the service at the bank counter is still good, if you can be patient enough in a 15 minute queue, there is virtually no management for SME businesses. The Branch Business Managers have gone and are replaced by Chatbots or a wait of 4-5 weeks to speak to someone on Zoom and they have not heard of email as a method of communicating what you want, with the expectaiton of an answer or a call in a few days. However, when I email my allocated Manager at Metro, I get an immediate answer stating that I will get a response in x hours or a day or two.... and I get that answer and if I phone the direct dial number of my manager, she picks up the phone and addresse me by name, enquiring how she can help me. Connecting the customer database to the telephone systm so you know who is calling you is not rocket science, but like email, the old banks have never heard of it and dont, or cannot do it. Best Bank for truly friendly, personal and prompt service

At 76, a former banker myself and having banked privately and in business with a good many banks over 55 years, I find Metro Bank to be seemingly unique in providing a personal service, rather as one could enjoy pre-1970s, where as a customer one can establish on-going direct contacts with named individuals in a banking team, even for relatively modest banking activities. Being able to contact a specific individual Metro Bank team member, who knows and properly understands you and your requirements, enables a refreshingly and consistently prompt and efficient service. The Metro Bank in-store (in-branch) service is particularly friendly with plenty of immediate first-hand assistance available.
