Community account

I opened a community bank account with Metro for the volunteer group I work with. It was relatively easy to open and the account is easy to operate via internet banking. I would recommend Metro bank to any other community/ volunteer groups that require a bank account. Reviewed on: 22nd March 2023

Easy friendly banking.

At first I was a bit sceptical of metro, as they don't do any advertising regarding their company, I didn't actually know a lot about them. My husband convinced me that they were a good bank. I have to say it was the best choice I made for my banking. All staff are friendly & ready to help with any needs. Reviewed on: 21st March 2023

Metro Bank excel everywhere

I have been a proud Metro Bank customer for some years now, and one thing that makes them stand out from the crowd is there consistently excellent customer service in branch, and that's been a constant in each different Metro Bank branch I have used. Nothing is too much trouble, and compared to the bigger named UK clearing banks where I have been a customer in the past, I am delighted with Metro Bank. The Metro Bank App is so easy to use and navigate around it's child's play, and if I can use it seamlessly, anyone can. I am delighted that when I need to make a foreign IBAN Transfer, that I can phone Metro Bank Customer Services and they will do it on the phone, saving me valuable time. Metro Bank customer service calls are superb and my calls to them are usually answered quickly and efficiently. I have recommended Metro Bank to a number of family and friends, I feel that Metro Bank out performs any of the usual High Street Banks effortlessly by providing better service levels and it makes banking with them a pleasure. Ridiculous Company Policy

Since moving to Scotland, where Metro Bank have no branches (closest branch about 180 mile away). We managed to change our address on most of the accounts; however they refuse to change the address of an account my wife and I set up for our daughter who is currently 17, even though they changed it for my 13 year old son. They have a policy that anyone over 11 must go through verification on the phone to be able to change the address. My children do not have access to the accounts we have set up for them (Young Savers Account's) as they'll be getting access once they are 21 as a nest egg for their future. The only other way is for Metro to send my daughter a "magic word" so she can set up online banking for an account we don't want her to have access to yet, which she full agrees with and wait for it they will send the "magic Word" to our old address!!! I've spoken to seven separate individuals and requested for a manager to call me back; however their managers appear to be avoiding the issue and I have not received a call back. My wife has now received a a text message saying that unless we change the address on the account they will lock the account. Reviewed on: 20th March 2023
