Monzo offer a free bank account for under 16s, with controls set by their parent or guardian.

Kids get their own neon card and can see their money in the Monzo app. Parents or Guardians can keep an eye on the account, set spending limits and schedule pocket money.

I can not fault Monzo it’s helped my son create saving pots for different things like his darts accessories and a new bike. He is actively saving each week as he can control and see his progress. I get updates when he spends too so I still feel in control. Reviewed on: 6th March 2026

We have an under 16s account for my Son, it is really easy to use and top up. Its good also that they can create a savings pot to encourage them to save. The customer service is good for solving issues. Reviewed on: 6th March 2026
