Monzo is a great bank, their app updates immediately 24 hours a day including weekends and bank holidays. You’re in complete control of your money and the app allows you to control your card, spending, and connects you with customer services 24 hours a day. Reviewed on: 1st June 2018

SCAMMERS, THIEVES, FRAUDSTERS, NOT A BANK

An insult to call themselves a bank. First of all I had an unauthorised, fraudulent online transaction - £959- taken from my account which monzo refused to refund for no valid reason and refused to discuss it further after waiting nearly a month for a conclusion. My account with monzo was closed for no reason and they refused to discuss it further and would ignore my calls and messages about the subject. Now I am unable to withdraw the remaining funds in my account due to monzo putting a restriction on my account, monzo advised I need to send an account number, sort code and a PDF bank statement all of which has been sent 3 times via the in app chat and email, now after a week of my account being closed I am still unable to access my funds - which I’ve told them I need in order to pay my rent - however no one seems to know why I am unable to access my funds other than a “specialist” (Kirk) who isn’t able to speak on the phone and has told me to contact us in 10 days for “an update” after saying that he has ignored all of my messages. When I call up the the contact centre is unable help with anything, managers never available and despite the fact I’ve been promised I will be called by a manager I am yet to receive a call from one. They are a disgrace, they do not follow the FCA rules and regulations, by far the worst organisation ever. Stay far away from monzo guys they won’t refund any unauthorised transactions, they will close your account for no reason and steal your money. They don’t deserve 1 star! Reviewed on: 25th May 2018

A real challenger

Monzo's product might not be for everyone. It's not that mature but it's evolving and it's great to see how they talk - and listen - to customers in their community forum and use that to help develop their service. This is a true challenger bank, taking time and thinking about the way money should work, rather than making us bend to the way it's always been done. Reviewed on: 17th May 2018

monzo are a bank of thieves!!

opened a monzo current account in march 2018, sent £300 into the account and used it with no problems! then a couple weeks later, my friend sent £1000 from his Halifax account!(legit money) I tryed to use monzo account and it was blocked as was the card! I contacted monzo on the phone/web chat! they said because its a tech error they cannot do anything about it and that I should just sit and wait for a response! that was 1 week ago! know they ignore all my e mails calls , web chat! this company is definitely dodgy!! and needs further investigation by the relevant authorities! if you go on trust-pilot there are other customers all complaining of the same treatment by monzo staff! also if you take to there monzo community forum and complain, you are abused from all sides! and your post gets taken down as not being relevent to monzo! I feel in my honest opinion and experience that monzo are somehow defrauding there customers out of there hard earned cash! also as a caution I would not recommend monzo customers to deposit large sums as they will not get there money back.......or if they do! it will be in a very loooooooooong time! yes run to the police/action fraud, they will tell you! but its a civil matter!(your wasting your time here) go to the f.a.s/ombudsman! they will have you running around in circles! as useless as a chocolate tea pot! my bottom line! DO NOT TRUST MONZO BANK!!!!!! STAY AWAY, FAR AWAY!! Reviewed on: 10th May 2018

Great customer service but still can't trust to be main account

Can't complain about the chat support. However it's still got denied by a few merchants, and because I need a high street bank for financial statement purposes so it can't be main account anytime soon. I do prefer Monzo over Starling and Revolut because of the card and app's colours. Haha. It should learn to adopt Revolut's partial block feature though. Reviewed on: 24th April 2018

Whoever thought anyone could fall in love with a bank?!

Monzo provide the best customer service compared to every other UK bank I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Fast and friendly customer service available 24/7 with people are completely open and honest. They provide features that allow me to be better with my money. For the first time in forever I'm now able to stay out of my overdraft and repay my debtors much more quickly. Reviewed on: 12th March 2018
