Simple setup with great app

The monzo account makes managing money really easy. You get instant notifications when money comes in and out of your account. The ability to round up card payments and put the difference into a savings pot is useful too. The app makes it super simple to transfer money (or request money) from family and friends, as well as features for splitting bills. The hot coral debit card will certainly get you noticed at the till. Reviewed on: 28th November 2019

Best bank for everyday banking

Where to start?! Push notifications for deposits and withdrawals/transactions, highly accurate merchant identification, one of the best and most straight forward budgeting WITHIN the app, ability to connect to IFTTT and partake in savings challenges and on top of that the most responsive and helpful customer service team. I have been with Monzo for almost a year now, have switched to them fully with their current account switch guarantee and genuinely have no complaints whatsoever. Efficient, smart and fun bank that is focused on improvement and development. It is yet to fail me. I do have to say I do not handle very large sums of money but Monzo have proven themselves to be the most reliable every-day bank and banking app that I’ve opened an account with. Starling has nothing on Monzo’s customer service and Revolut did not prove itself fit for day-to-day banking on a personal account. Love it all!

Great app, fantastic budgeting tools, excellent customer service. Shared tab function is great for splitting bills with someone you share costs with a lot (a partner or housemate for example), and the ad hoc bill splitting is useful too for one-off things (dinner with friends, gig tickets etc). When my card got scammed, I got from 'initial fraudulent transaction' to 'new card on its way' within 20 minutes, all via online chat - the push notifications alerted me to the transactions straight away and the help centre person was awesome in getting it all sorted out. A good start, but everyone else is catching up

In terms of being friendly and accessible, Monzo wins hands down. Unfortunately, the app is plagued with bugs and things changing at the whim of the company, which is really starting to make me reconsider who I stay with. The fact that foreign payments don't have additional charges is a major factor for me staying though. However, high street banks are catching up in functionality and more reasonable fees, so it might not be long before Monzo are trailing behind. Reviewed on: 25th November 2019

Easy to manage finances

It’s fantastic. They breakdown your spending so you can ACTUALLY see what you’re spending your money on and keep on track of your finances. I hadn’t realised before how much of my monthly income got spent at the pub! Reviewed on: 24th November 2019

Great app, but some teething problems from a young bank

Very happy with my day-to-day experience with Monzo. Some niggles and rough edges—moving money out of interest-earning savings needs 24 hours notice (which occasionally makes things more difficult than necessary); cheques take an age to pay in as they have to be posted.
