Unlimited Mileage, total and complete and utter rubbish!

Go on the Smart Miles web site and what jumps out at you is unlimited mileage, Great I hear you say, dont be fooled its a con! You can have unlimited mileage if you are prepared to pay about £310 per every extra £2000 miles you need over your stated mileage amount. They do vaguely mention this in the tiny print that you're not meant to see of course! Reviewed on: 20th May 2019

RIP off insurance

Charging people £341 for an extra 1000 miles so they can drive their car up until near the end of their policy because they miscalculated miles....then insisting for another £177 for 500 more or they will cancel the policy in the last month Reviewed on: 15th May 2019

SCUM

Got a text to say my sons insurance was cancelled after 1 mistake that they deemed dangerous(it wasn't). He has averaged 10's over the last 8 months. The black box even gave crap scores sitting on the driveway ( he was on holiday). DO NOT USE YOUNG DRIVERS !!! IT MAY BE CHEAP BUT IT WILL COST YOU IN THE END AS POLICY WILL DOUBLE BECAUSE of automatic CANCELLATION !!! T***TS Reviewed on: 8th May 2019

1 Star does'nt do them justice!

1 star doesn't do justice! Terrible experience and will not be using them EVER!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! V.Poor communication, rude staff, inconsiderate, call waiting take ages (30/45mins) then by the time you have spoken to them you're looking at being on the phone for over an hour! If your car goes for repair they will use Nationwide which have a 1 star rating and very poor reputation garage... Their slogan "Don't Accept Less Than More Than" well dam you are expecting a lot less!! Reviewed on: 10th April 2019

Money sucking vampires !!!!!!!

I have been insuring my dog with Mug em insurance company for three years now and each succeeding year they double the insurance. Granted my dog had a minor condition that has not resurfaced for a year, so I would understand an increase but this year they have doubled the cot from £45 a month to £100. PEOPLE PLEASE your better off creating an account and saving it yourself every month with interest then support a business that is willing to bend you over and bugger you while smiling and telling you that you have no choice. Living nightmare

So I took out an insurance policy of 25k miles on the telematics policy due to my long commute to work, cost £1500 with a box on my first year on a relatively slow car. I am 7 months into the policy and have to date had 12 yellow speeding infractions, 2 red, and 1 black (cancellation). Every time one of these has happened I have contacted MoreThan and appealed as I’m not a fast driver. Out of the 15 infractions I was accused of committing (enough to be cancelled 4-5 times over), 1 yellow warning stuck, and even that is debatable. I got a dashcam to win appeals, but by the time they have texted me saying I have a warning I have already overwritten the video of the time they accuse me of speeding due to the delay in sending me a text informing me of the warning in the first place. I have won £50 in compensation from them for a couple of the warnings and plan on taking it further. Nothing about the black box is accurate, nothing about the policy is flexible due to the invisible curfews and smoothness scores in traffic, and the customer support have always been less than helpful. Only when I threaten legal action do I get anything from these people. Avoid like the plague. If you can’t trust your black box or your son/daughters black box, how will you know how you/they drive? If you DO insist on going for MoreThan, get a dashcam. Reviewed on: 20th March 2019

Smart Wheels

I've read so many negative reviews of this insurance company, however I gave them a go for my first year of driving as they offered me the cheapest price by about £400! If you drive safely and within the 'rules' of the box, you will have no problems with this insurance company. There was one occasion where a day of my journeys came out with a terrible score, however I received an email to say there was a system error on their part and these scores were amended. The customer service teams are extremely helpful over the telephone and go out of their way to make reccomendations and congratulate you on great driving. The only issue I had with this insurance policy was how expensive top up miles are. My scores have always hovered around the 8.6 mark, so in theory the top up miles should be relatively cheap. In the end I paid over £600 for these miles, so always overestimate on your predicted mileage at the start - it saves money in the long run. Reviewed on: 18th March 2019

MORE THAN you thought you were paying

Cons: Inaccurate black Box Extortionate excess miles price (£1260.69 for 4000) The staff don't know how their system measures your driving score The staff do not know how the system figures out mileage price More Cons: False driving scores Secret Curfew on the box Box thought I drove over the English channel for a spontaneous trip to France! I purchased this policy because it had the cheapest premium, I looked at reviews and ignored them thinking that they can't be that bad. Ohhhh my god please don't make that mistake aswell. Getting a policy without a black box is a hell of a lot cheaper in the long run than a telematics policy. AVOID AT ALL COSTS do not buy into the infrastructure of this fraudulent company. This is as close to robbery as you can get without it resulting in a prison sentence. Reviewed on: 27th February 2019
