Black box nightmare!

They need to either update their system or sort out the black boxes, ever since I had a new one installed my speed as been in the negative even though I have not once gone over the speed limit, either been at it or just below! Reviewed on: 20th October 2018

keep away

Worst insurance company I have ever encountered and I have been insurancing my car for over 40 years. Keep well away. Pay at little extra and get yourself a good reliable trustworthy company. Read their terms and conditions carefully or you will be out of money like me within months and then having to find another insurance.The company is a big scam.Within a month of having the box fitted it was faulty and if your vehicle has not been driven for a while they send someone to check box saying its not working. In three months policy was cancelled and only reason given was because of driving style. Keep well away. Wish had read other reviews before taking insurance with them. Reviewed on: 5th October 2018

Worst company ever!!!

No one go with this company! Worst company I’ve ever dealt with,worst customer service, had car insurance off them no confirmation email to say I had cover, the Monday I was meant to have cover showed up as no insurance phoned them and they said it was 13 different transactions ( as I previous tried but it kept knocking me off the payment page ) they said a new quote would of cost me the double amount, so I spoke to them and explained my suitation and it was nothing they could of done so I demanded all my information and payment to be taken off the system, A day later £450 was taken from my account but no email to say the insurance was confirmed, numerous of calls still no one did anything, said I was going to get an email 2/3 working days still nothing, now they phoned me saying they need proof of the money taken as they can’t see it on the account. Quick enough to grab your money but can’t do anything for you, avoid like the plague so glad I went with a different company and would rather pay the £30 more then go with this scam, fraud company!!!! Awful insurers. AVOID

I went with Smart Wheels for my first insurance as it seemed cheaper. It ended up being £2000 for the year and it was a rip off! £600 deposit and then £130 a month. For what? For poor customer service, unfair scores and faulty boxes. They kept threatening to cancel my insurance if I didn’t let them check the black box... which I had never refused to let them do. They kept penalising me for speeding when I didn’t. The box is so sensitive that an emergency stop ruins your score. Suspiciously your scores get worse just before the end of the renewalperiod so you end up losing reward money. To top it all off... there IS a curfew even though they say there isn’t (11pm - your score drops to -10 if you drive past then) and they refuse to explain how they decide on how to score the different categories. Fairly okay

Day light robbery

Tried taking £140-odd twice at start of policy, even though it was £73 monthly instalments . Got through to them after an hour . They said all was sorted and my next payment would be £73 on 14th September 2018 . I then received a letter on 17th September that they cancelled my policy on 10th of September because I owed them £645 !!!!!!!!! They just plucked that figure out of the air! I was only with em for two months ! And I was effectively driving uninsured for a week without any knowledge of it! I’m only glad I didn’t stay with em any longer now I know all this . Borderline Scam

They take your money and then give you warnings for offences with no means of appeal even with firm evidence provided they cancel the policy with no refund. They are acting fraudently avoid at all costs Reviewed on: 5th September 2018

Decided to buy a bike and store the car!

Let me sum up the basics Rate you down driving late at night, rate you down driving in traffic, rate you down if you over Rev the engine, rate you down if you go over 5mph, rate you down if you have to brake hard, to avoid cat/dog! Rate you down if you use the car more than 6 times in 24 hours, high excess if you need to buy more miles! At this point I bought a bicycle and left the car locked up and not using it until policy ends. Initially the low quote was a deal clincher but you really need to read small print plus read the reviews on here and trust pilot. I don’t recommend the black box, it’s unreliable and cheap! Take your money and run.

I cancelled my cover with them on the 15th August. They took £528.11 out of my bank on 24th August. I do not trust this company. Reviewed on: 31st August 2018
