Review of the MORE THAN, Car insurance (discontinued):

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

First year with them as I’m currently 6 months into this insurance company, they are a scam I got my insurance with them and put 5000 miles which I thought was the lowest amount, for the lady on the phone to not tell me the min and max which states they should, used 2000 miles in 3 months as a first time driver you want to go explore and drive to places You’ve never been to before my insurance cost £72 a month which I could afford in my last job, then I added 2000 miles on to get to 7000 as they estimated I needed which I didn’t realise I didn’t so that was £200 odd pound upfront with a admin fee of £25 which took my direct debit upto £84 which was still a reasonable price, then enquired about business insurance And 3000 miles added on top and also enquired about changing my occupation to care assistant to then be told a quote of just under £1000 upfront with admin fees so of course I didn’t go for that job and told her to leave it , then month later my insurance went up to £97 to be told on the phone she added everything on and we was charged as I explained I was enquiring to be refunded £15 which was a joke really, then enquired about changing my address to a few miles down the road to be quoted £275 with a admin fee of £25 and my insurance to go up to £157 a month as apparently it’s a bad area compared to the one I’m living now even though it’s roughly the same area, then enquired about adding mileage once more as I’ve only got around 2400 left to last me till February 2021 and got qouted £387 upfront and a £25 admin fee for my insurance to go up to £173 something, I would not recommend at all even if you do 1mph over the speed limit you get a bad score your constantly checking your speedometer and if you go slow you get a bad score too, it’s a absolute joke suppose to be for affordable for young people and they just scan money out of you, even when I stayed at my partners house during lockdown due to working with the public in retail I didn’t wanna pass anything on to my parents I was staying there for roughly 3/4 months to prevent the spread , they only just informed me last week that they would cancel my insurance for the over night parking No communication just a text no email to say about a accident that I’d had which wasn’t my fault due to someone running up the back off me and I didn’t claim as not much damage they didn’t once get in touch with the 3rd party to see if they was claiming had to ring that persons insurance up myself to have the open claim took off had to call more than up my self to see what was going on still can’t get a temporary insurance on my parents car like I normally do to save my mileage when going long distance absolute joke , DO NOT RECOMMEND PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! stay away from this company

Insured my car for 12 months on the phone before policy expired, waiting for debit card payment to go through which I was told it had. Thought job was done as got policy documents through along with a gift voucher, until 14 days after it had expired when I got an email saying sorry I had left More Than, so I called to discover they had not completed my policy saying the card payment could not go through due to lack of funds, but knowing there was plenty of funds I got written verification from my bank stating that no attempt had been made to take funds by More Than. More Than the admitted their mistake and say they would have covered my car for the 14 days but we know they would not have and it had been taken off the insurance data base on the day of expiry which they later admitted. They offered £100 in compensation for a high powered car, not that old, high value, that could have been stolen or in an accident, also bearing in mind I could have lost my licence which I rely on for work. This is a dangerous company to deal with, very slippery, most definitely unreliable so wont be going back to them again ad would recommend nobody else does. Reviewed on: 14th September 2022

Absolutely disgusting company to deal with. DO NOT recommend at all. My policy was cancelled on the letter stating 7 days but infact it was 1 day from the day i got the letter. My named driver cancelled her policy previously on her own vehicle with a different company due to door number being incorrect. This went down as ‘fraud’ according to more than’s company regulations. We explained the situation but no, policy was still cancelled. They understand yes, but do they care NO. Reviewed on: 31st August 2022

I spoke to a lady who was in the Cape Town office, and she made the whole process very easy. She was a lovely lady named Sam, at Cape Town, and she could not have been more helpful! Policy cancelled because they delivered milage device to wrong address

More Than are cancelling my insurance policy because they've delivered my mileage device to the wrong address. They refuse to accept it wasn't delivered to me because they have a picture of someone i don't know holding a parcel. No name, no signature. They refuse to send me a new device even though i have nothing to gain from making this up and will in fact now be considerably out of pocket with a cancelled policy on my record. Okay but delayed communication

I used More Than for my car insurer a couple years ago and I had some miscommunication with them when I was up for renewal and looking to move onto another insurer. I had lost the email they sent across with my no claims discount and I tried contacting them multiple times to retrieve it, ultimately it was sent across too late and my my new insurer cancelled on me. Awful company DO NOT GET CAR INSURANCE

Increased my premium themselves and charged triple amount, which I never agreed! Phone them to cancel the insurance twice, Didn't even listen to a word I said, they asked me to wait till their verification team look into my account and, however Never had a single response. 3 weeks later cancelled my insurance without notification, and send me a big bill with a threatening letter. Avoid these guys at all costs. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY TOOK ALMOST 6 MONTHS TO VERIFY DOCUMENTS, They don't do any basic requirements that a normal insurance company does instead they hide behind an app that they barely update and think is providing adequate notifications. Scammers
