AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

First year with them as I’m currently 6 months into this insurance company, they are a scam I got my insurance with them and put 5000 miles which I thought was the lowest amount, for the lady on the phone to not tell me the min and max which states they should, used 2000 miles in 3 months as a first time driver you want to go explore and drive to places You’ve never been to before my insurance cost £72 a month which I could afford in my last job, then I added 2000 miles on to get to 7000 as they estimated I needed which I didn’t realise I didn’t so that was £200 odd pound upfront with a admin fee of £25 which took my direct debit upto £84 which was still a reasonable price, then enquired about business insurance And 3000 miles added on top and also enquired about changing my occupation to care assistant to then be told a quote of just under £1000 upfront with admin fees so of course I didn’t go for that job and told her to leave it , then month later my insurance went up to £97 to be told on the phone she added everything on and we was charged as I explained I was enquiring to be refunded £15 which was a joke really, then enquired about changing my address to a few miles down the road to be quoted £275 with a admin fee of £25 and my insurance to go up to £157 a month as apparently it’s a bad area compared to the one I’m living now even though it’s roughly the same area, then enquired about adding mileage once more as I’ve only got around 2400 left to last me till February 2021 and got qouted £387 upfront and a £25 admin fee for my insurance to go up to £173 something, I would not recommend at all even if you do 1mph over the speed limit you get a bad score your constantly checking your speedometer and if you go slow you get a bad score too, it’s a absolute joke suppose to be for affordable for young people and they just scan money out of you, even when I stayed at my partners house during lockdown due to working with the public in retail I didn’t wanna pass anything on to my parents I was staying there for roughly 3/4 months to prevent the spread , they only just informed me last week that they would cancel my insurance for the over night parking No communication just a text no email to say about a accident that I’d had which wasn’t my fault due to someone running up the back off me and I didn’t claim as not much damage they didn’t once get in touch with the 3rd party to see if they was claiming had to ring that persons insurance up myself to have the open claim took off had to call more than up my self to see what was going on still can’t get a temporary insurance on my parents car like I normally do to save my mileage when going long distance absolute joke , DO NOT RECOMMEND PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Cancel insurance

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS INSURANCE THEY HAVE JUST CANCELLED MY DAUGHTERS INSURANCE 2 DAYS AFTER TAKING 330 QUID TO TOP UP HER MILES APPARENTLY FOR SPEEDING THRY ARE CHEEP INITIALLY BUT ID SAY PAY A BIT EXTRA AND GET INSURANCE FROM A BETTER COMPANY THEY HAVE WAITED TILL SHE IS MORE THAN HALF WAY THROUGH IT SO NOT GETTING ANY MONEY BACK CAN NOT STATE THIS ENOUGH DO NOT GO NEAR MORE THAN Reviewed on: 24th September 2019

Horrible Insurance

They destroy young drivers future with insurance companies, they cancelled my daughter insurance without any notice for extra mileage without possibility of topping up. saying times up without any warning cancellation letter arrived Reviewed on: 6th September 2019

HORRENDOUS

horrendous company, missed payment which I had no notice of no email phone call or letter to say the direct debit had not gone through. Called up to ask a question about something today to find my policy had been cancelled on the 12th with no warning, I received other general letters in between this time from smart wheels but no warning of policy being cancelled. When speaking to someone I checked my Junk to find an email on there well actually several emails all on the same day the 15th to confirm cancellation not warning of cancellation to tell me they already had cancelled it. no other correspondence. I asked if I can make the payment as I wasn't aware of it not going through and they said no sorry its already cancelled... maybe I should have read reviews as this is not the first time (cancellation with no warning) by the sounds of it especially to young drivers they know who to target.. I am already in contact with the ombudsman they wont be getting away with this scam much longer.... 750 initial payment and monthly payments of 125 i think they have had enough money out of me I am not needed any more.... Scam for young people

Have payed over £1000 in top up miles during my policy for them to cancel my insurance for exceeded mile usage (which I had intentions to pay for) when I phoned up to pay for the exceeded miles I was told that my insurance policy was cancelled and that the decision had been made by a higher power and there was nothing they could do! Lost my years no claims, my position as a driver in the company I work for and not to forget the 2 months insurance i had left on my policy. The inconvenience and stress this comapany has caused me is unbelievable... I wonder how much my insurance will be next year with a cancellation on my insurance record Reviewed on: 29th June 2019

Appalling customer service

Absolutely appalling customer service,they leave you on hold for fifteen twenty minutes. Don’t take insurance out with this company! They used to have an English call centre,it sounds like they have our sourced to Africa as it’s hard to understand the advisors.Quality poor. Reviewed on: 3rd June 2019

Terrible

More than are NOT helpful, towards the end of my policy if i run out of miles, they tried charging me more then my policy for the year to add on 2000 miles. Reviewed on: 21st May 2019

Unlimited Mileage, total and complete and utter rubbish!

Go on the Smart Miles web site and what jumps out at you is unlimited mileage, Great I hear you say, dont be fooled its a con! You can have unlimited mileage if you are prepared to pay about £310 per every extra £2000 miles you need over your stated mileage amount. They do vaguely mention this in the tiny print that you're not meant to see of course! Reviewed on: 20th May 2019
