1
Extremely disappointed with the treatment we have received from NatWest and Tyl. Our business accounts and payment facilities were suddenly shut down, with a significant amount of company funds withheld despite no fraud, no chargebacks, and no wrongdoing on our behalf. We have fully cooperated throughout and provided every document requested, yet we are still left without proper answers. What has made the situation even worse is the complete lack of consistency and communication. Tyl recently carried out a review and informed us that the funds had been approved for release, only to then backtrack the following day and state this was a “mistake”. After months of stress and uncertainty, this has caused even more financial damage to our business. Although NatWest and Tyl operate as different services, they both fall under NatWest Group, and based on our experience we feel it is only right to warn new businesses to proceed with caution. We have now been informed by NatWest that the funds held within one of our accounts are not under suspicion and that there are “no concerns regarding legitimacy”, however we are still expected to wait up to 60 days for our own money to simply be transferred from one account to another — and even this timeframe is not guaranteed according to the wording on their own letter. Meanwhile, we are being left facing serious financial hardship, falling behind on rent, and dealing with the real possibility of eviction, all whilst our legitimate business funds remain inaccessible. We are now preparing to escalate the matter through the Financial Ombudsman Service, as we do not believe genuine businesses should be treated this way. We hope somebody senior within NatWest Group finally reviews our case properly and understands the real-world impact these decisions have on businesses, employees, and families. Good app on the whole no local branch

4
The app is fairly good apart from the payees relevant to all of your bank accounts are on one list not just your business payees and vice versa for your current account which is really annoying. Sadly we have lost our local branch which means we are even less likely to use it being 20 miles away as it is usually a business matter of note that requires attendance which cannot be accomodated nor discretion afforded in a local post office even if the service were available. Terrible service to Almshouse in St Albans.

1
We are an old established Almshouse in St Albans and have banked with Natwest for many years. 2 of our Trustees died, so we need to alter our banking mandate in order to add new Trustees who will be authorised to sign cheques on our behalf. Natwest have been appalling, making us do everything online and then rejecting the change requests without adequate explanation. We are now desperate! Reviewed on: 12th January 2026

This is a terrible bank.

This is a terrible bank. I had business banking with them and in covid took a bounce back loan as I had to close my business. having really struggled with repayments I asked them to lower the amount as I had used the pay as you grow. They said no. They are appalling, unhelpful and arrogant. To make matters worse they email saying let us know if you are struggling and we can help. Only to say no we can't help, sort it out. Horrific. Reviewed on: 21st October 2025

Very poor customer service.

Very poor customer service. Setting up a business bank account is virtually impossible with inconsistent information, poor case management and a general lack of communication and progress Reviewed on: 17th October 2025

Unwanted account still open since 2023

1
Requested my application be cancelled due to ridiculous questions being asked during application process - not only did they proceed to open the account anyway, I've now been trying since 2023 to get the account closed down to no avail. Customer services are rude and unhelpful, there are so many better business banking options to choose from, use literally anyone else, there's no value to be had here. Reviewed on: 8th April 2025
