Excellent bank account for students. Interest free and texts alerts! Reviewed on: 23rd January 2016

Student/Graduate Account

4
The student/graduate accounts are overall good value as you get freebies such as a 16-25 railcard, a taste card and others I can not think of. The £2000 over draft is useful and you have make money of it if you transfer the majority of it into your savings account. The online banking is straight forward. However whenever I visit in branch I am often encouraged to go online and often end up using their telephone to ring someone as they can not do it for me directly, unlike other banks I have banked with. Suited me throughout my degree

I opened up my account in 2009 when I went to University. Natwest have been very flexible and have been very flexible when I did a gap year to study in france and did my last 2 years part time. They kept me on a student account even though I had gone over the time limit. I am thrilled with the service I have received whilst I was a student, and I am very happy even though I now have a graduate account. Reviewed on: 24th December 2015

App can be very temperamental

The app for this account isn't the most reliable, which is a shame as I have found NatWest to offer a good level of service otherwise. Reviewed on: 21st October 2015

Brilliant customer service and features

I've never had a problem caused by Natwest, but when I've caused my own problems (such as being unable to understand something on their website, being unsure how to do something, or needing to block my card), I've been able to get in contact with Natwest extremely easily. I've never had to wait in a queue to contact someone via their live chat, and their phone support for card blocking is extremely efficient (although you could argue that this is to be expected). Things such as being able to take money out of their cash points with your phone are great features too - I've accidentally left my card at home many times, so being able to get money out without it has been extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend getting your student account with Natwest. Reviewed on: 26th August 2015

Good customer service

I have had to contact the Natwest many times recently over issues with my pay (my employer's fault, not theirs!) and I've been very impressed with the high standards of customer service. They clearly have a great ethos when it comes to training and looking after their staff. Everybody I've spoken to has been beyond friendly and helpful and I intend to continue banking with them once I graduate. Reviewed on: 21st August 2015

Simple, easy banking

4
Having had a Student Account for a number of years, I have found Natwest to very reliable and trustworthy. When opening my account I was provided with a 4 year student railcard which has been invaluable throughout my student years. Although this deal is no longer available, Natwest do now provide students with a Young Persons Coachcard which offers a 1/3rd off coach travel. I have always found Natwests online services very easy to use with a nice clear display. The only issue I have found is that they require you to use a card reader when transferring money to a new person. These card readers are supplied for free from Natwest, although take a few days to arrive by post, which can be frustrating if you need to pay someone in a hurry. One feature of online banking which is particularly useful is that you are able to see an actual balance and an available balance. This allows you to view how much money will be in your account once all transactions from the past few days have cleared, giving a more accurate view of your finances. All in all, this is a basic account which can save you a few pounds if you travel frequently! Reviewed on: 18th August 2015

Nothing special but ok

Never really felt like I've got much for a loyal customer after being them for 7 years ! Customer service is Ok but took nearly a month for a replacement debit card to arrive and savings account cards can never be used in shops which is inconvenient! Reviewed on: 15th August 2015

Free 16-25 railcard, great app / website. Recommended.

Around 4 years with the account so far, no major issues. The website and app seem to be well above-average, the 16-25 railcard has been very useful, and the new contactless debit cards are great. Recommended. Reviewed on: 1st August 2015
