Good but they don't allow you to get other products

Natwest is fantastic when you're a student. Interest free over draft, credit card and I got a rail card with mine. Once you have left university and begin your career this let's their users down. You are unable to recieve any other products from them due to having a student account and have to request to switch over, which doesn't come with any advantages for staying with them. Other building societies provide a better service for their existing customers. Reviewed on: 1st July 2016

Helpful, friendly and effective.

The staff at Natwest were very helpful, especially as this was my first account and I wasn't sure how the whole process works. They made me feel comfortable and allowed me to ask as many questions as I needed to make the best decision as to open with them or not, and of course - I did! Reviewed on: 27th June 2016

Honoured Student Railcard

Changed from undergraduate to postgraduate (i.e. still a student), so had to extend my student account with interest free overdraft. They honoured the student railcard offer which was running four years ago when I opened the account, despite it not being offered anymore. Reviewed on: 19th February 2016

Sanity-saver!

When I was a student at Southampton Uni, I suffered from such homesickness! The free rail card I got from changing my solo account into a student account meant I could afford rail fares home every 2 weeks. I wouldn't have survived uni without it! Long forms but helpful stafff

I've been with Natwest bank since i was old enough to get a bank account, i do really like my Bank, whenever i'm in need of assistance they're always ready to help setting up my student bank account was a nightmare and one lady spent over an hour helping my fill in all these forms! thank you Natwest! Overall a great service

I've had a great time with my Natwest student account. I enjoyed the perks of the 18-25 rail card, since it made traveling home much cheaper. I also had few issues during my time with Natwest. One issue I did have was that they got my graduation date wrong and switched my account details without telling me. This included changing the terms of my overdraft and my interest rates. The Natwest team supported me really well with changing it and the issue was sorted in a decent time frame. I would recommend this account for students, although the rail card is sadly no longer a perk. Reviewed on: 13th February 2016
