Very helpful and I got a better deal than I had before

The service given was professional, friendly and very helpful. The information I needed was presented clearly and I was very pleased to get a better rate on my mortgage by going direct to NBS and discussing in person was very helpful. Reviewed on: 19th November 2019

Great personal service

The thing that sets the Newbury apart from other lenders, in my opinion, is the personal service one receives. On the very rare occasions that you might want to call them the phone is answered directly by a human being who, generally puts you through directly a person who then helps you. The Newbury was one of the very few building societies willing to help people of our age (over 70) to obtain a mortgage at a competitive rate as an alternative to equity release.

We had to request an extension of our mortgage offer twice due to unavoidable and unexpected delays in the sale of our existing property and purchase of the new and found the underwriter to be very helpful and understanding in granting our request via our mortgage broker Mark Cornes (MC Mortgages). We've been very satisfied with the service from you the last 3 years and pleased to ne renewing again with you. The only niggle we have is that NBS were not able to offer a fixed rate product (shared ownership mortgage) when we renewed our mortgage earlier this month. Reviewed on: 15th November 2019

Really friendly staff and easy process

We bought our first home this year (2019) and were really unsure on the process as we decided to go with the Shred Ownership Scheme. Not many mortgage providers are able to provide these types of mortgages, and our broker found Newbury. Any dealings we have had have been easy and with friendly members or staff. When we moved in, we got a hamper which made the whole process even better. Would highly recommend to anyone, especially first time buyers. Reviewed on: 15th November 2019
