Glad to be getting away!

I had a Buy to let mortgage with the Society which was originally at a good rate; the Truss madness resulted in this increasing by almost 300% I appreciate that this was not the Society‘s fault but there was no help at all when I started the selling process (with the tenants moved out) and I had to weather months of £1100 per month expenditure. The icing on the cake was £3500 of early repayment charges. I am simply glad to be getting away from NBS! Reviewed on: 24th August 2024

Completion delay

Good up to completion. New compliance officer demanded additional paperwork delaying the completion. Very stressful and should not have happened. Reviewed on: 14th February 2025

Common sense approach to lending.

Remortgaging to Newbury was a Great Choice

We were remortgaging to Newbury from another lender via a broker, but the interactions we had with Newbury BS staff was excellent throughout the process. Staff at the building society responded quickly.

Staff at the building society responded quickly and helpfully throughout the entire process. We were working within strict time constraints on the purchase of a property and staff kept us fully informed of progress at all stages which took the pressure off from what can be a stressful experience when it is not something you do every day.
