I met staff of Newbury Building Society at Abingdon Air Show and liked the sound of the account which I subsequently opened in branch. The service I received in branch was very good and the whole process was very smooth. Since then I have used internet access which again is very user-friendly (I'm not computer-savvy, so need simple systems!). Reviewed on: 4th January 2018

Easy process although with one reservation

I opened a second ISA account. The process was straightforward until it came to adding funds. When I entered my bank sort code the system brought up the wrong branch address. I knew this would not be a problem as my wife had the same issue and contacted our local Newbury office about it and was re-assured, so I knew it was not a problem. But it did make us stop and wonder about the whole system, but everything worked as expected anyway. Reviewed on: 9th January 2021

Proactive customer service

Fabulous customer service from Newbury BS. They contacted us one year after opening our first account to remind us we became eligible for a higher interest account at this point. Paperwork arrived a day later and the account was open within a few days. Couldn’t ask for more. Reviewed on: 9th January 2021

Simple way to open new account

opening an existing member savings account

the Alton office was friendly and welcoming and COVID secure I sat on a comfortable seat for a few minutes and then was helped very pleasantly and efficiently by Ian. I saw the lovely calendar and was pleased to make a donation to a local charity to take one home I have also had outstanding service at the Basingstoke and Winchester branches I have always been impressed with the society. its moral beliefs and stunning customer service.
