opening an Existing Members' Account online

From my Welcome Account I clicked the option to open a new account and opted to put money into the account by a transfer from my bank current account. It was then not until at least a week later I received notification that the account had been opened and that it had a nil balance. It seems as though I shouldn't have attempted to use the account straight away but did not know this. please note though that the one star re recommending to friends/family is not appropriate -- I would never recommend a financial institution but surveys never take account of this possibility. Better interest rates than most

Unnecessary delay when opening my new existing member's account when my wife's new existing member's account was opened reasonably quickly after sending our ID details as requested. Mine was delayed for a further 7 days after hers was approved Reviewed on: 11th December 2020

Opening new account

Called into Basingstoke branch to open new savings account and a Cash ISA. Could not have been more helpful. Savings books posted to me arrived next day, with a follow up call to check they had arrived safely. Excellent customer service. Reviewed on: 11th December 2020

Great customer service

I wanted to open a savings account and as I was a new customer needed to complete b post as wasn’t near a branch. The form could be downloaded and completed online but had to be posted but it didn’t say we’re to post it so had to call them. However their agent was extremely pleasant and helpful and after posting my application and cheque received my passbook a week later so everything was good in the end and now can send money by bank transfer rather than posting.
