Outstanding customer service

Samantha called me from the Abingdon branch after I responded to a suggested review. She explained the options and made it very easy for me to open a members account. Samantha called back later and explained the next steps very clearly. I went to the branch next day and Samantha and her colleague sorted everything for me. I really appreciate being able to talk to and deal with real people rather than facing the inevitable frustrations of the internet. If only the rest of modern life was as easy as this! Opening Existing member acc

The ID process was cumbersome especially as I am an existing customer and therefore known to you. Seems a bit pointless to have to send you a bank statement from the bank which is already nominated with you.it then took several secure messages and phone calls to confirm the account was open before I could pay money in. Easy, quick, online

Friendly and comprehensive advice

I received a clear outline of all of the options available to me that would suit my best interest. The advisor was cheery and friendly and very helpful with any questions I had. Definitely increased my confidence to bank with them. Reviewed on: 25th March 2021

A traditional building society

My husband and I recently opened ISA accounts and we’re impressed by the ease and efficiency of the process. Staff that we had to speak to were warm and helpful too. Reviewed on: 24th March 2021

A better savings offer than most.

I opened a Welcome to Newbury savings account because, although limited to a modest £3000, it pays a better interest rate than the great majority of instant access accounts. The experience was straightforward, the only slight surprise being that I received an actual passbook for the account, whereas my wife, who opened the same account last year, was not sent a passbook at all. Opening of new account and online registration

I rang Alton branch and was sent an introductory pack. The member of staff was very helpful and he outlined the accounts .I was surprised at the pack as no other bank or building society has sent such comprehensive information .I opened the account quickly by post and have had all the information to open online transactions. Opening a Welcome to Newbury savings' account
