Great local building society that looks after its existing savers.

Nice to see a local society still around with branches in the high street (even though I now do most transactions online I know I could call in if I needed to). Newbury also look after their existing members with good savings rates (pity I could not save more with them ! ) I don't look to them for everyday banking but for putting away my savings to earn enough go keep up with inflation hopefully. Opening a New Account at Basingstoke Branch

Transfering money

The facility to transfer money to Bank via the computer is one of the best things that you have introduced. Saves so much time traveling to town, parking etc. Reviewed on: 21st August 2019

Off to a flying start

My savings account was set up last month, and I've had very prompt and effective communications. I was recently unable to access my online account, and when I contacted the Society, they were able to resolve the issue swiftly and without any delays. Reviewed on: 21st August 2019

Opening account

Opening the account was a little daunting, as I could have done with the account number straight away, to avoid delay in transaction being made. NBS information received quickly to open online and easy to follow. Would like to see app? Reviewed on: 18th August 2019

2nd account opening

I opened a senior savers account and did this online. For an instant access, no limits on the number of withdrawals account, the interest rate was much better than my existing account with another provider. All went smoothly, but I was asked to provide a recent bank statement for my nominated account, even though this was the same one already confirmed. A quick exchange of emails resolved this promptly and efficiently. Reviewed on: 17th August 2019

New account

Friendly, comprehensive advice

Wandered in to Winchester branch without an appointment, having been recommended by a family member. Was greeted promptly and dealt with immediately. Will talked me through all the savings options and advised me on the most appropriate for me. Talked me through the process and opened my account; no fuss or difficulties.
