A fantastic service

I have used this service for years and find it extremely helpful in my role - which is discharging homeless duty into the private sector for Hackney Council. I use this to check affordability. Better Off Calculator take all comments & suggestions seriously and have improved - and continue to improve - the calculator enormously. It is easy to use and the results it are comprehensive and easy to update /amend. They also offer training on various subjects. I cannot praise them enough to be honest. They truly deserve to win. Policy in practice is a great tool for the customer and landlord to use. It gives the customer help and suggestions with benefits that they may not realise that they could apply for. Using Benefit Calculator for work

I recently used the Better Off Calculator and was genuinely impressed with how helpful and easy it was to use. It gave me a clear, realistic picture of how taking on a job or increasing hours would affect overall income — including any changes to benefits, tax credits, and other support. What I appreciated most was the breakdown of income before and after employment. It helped me see exactly where someone could gain and how it would impact theirhousehold budget. It’s reassuring to know that they would be better off financially by working more, and it’s taken a lot of the uncertainty out of planning their next steps. The tool is very user-friendly, even if you're not great with numbers, and it really helped boost my confidence about returning to work.
