Review of the Purely Pets, Pet insurance:

Poor service, slow claims process, rising premiums

With insurance, there are limited interactions upon which to base your judgment. My experiences with Purely Pets thus far have generally been unfavourable. In fairness, the premiums seem competitive for the level of cover - although we will only truly be able to assess that if/when they pay out on a claim! However, they have increased the premium aggressively in year two, despite our pets being young, healthy (no prior claims) and kept indoors. They increased our premiums further when we told them we had moved (from West London to home counties and the pets never leave the house, so it's hard to see what possible change there could be to the risk profile). And now to my ongoing claim. Purely Pets don't pay for treatment up front so you are already having to incur expenses and wait to claim back. Then they have busted through their already lengthy claim assessment period with nothing but standard, identically worded text messages in the meantime, telling me not to worry. I sent a message to follow up and they have busted through their timeframe for responding to that too! Will they ever respond? Will they ever process my claim? The customer service is slow to non-existent and the fervour with which they increase premiums is another bad sign. (My claim has not yet been assessed, so this review is not influenced by a good or bad result). Reviewed on: 23rd August 2024

Pet insurance.

THEY GAVE ME WHAT WAS REQUIRED WITHOUT HASSLE

l lost my young dog early this year with cancer all within two weeks from a slight cough and l was not in the best state but Purely Pets sorted everything for me as l was not wanting to that sort of thing so great for me. Reviewed on: 29th June 2020

Excellent insurer

Great insurer - getting a quote was really easy and all the terms and conditions were set out and easy to understand. We have had to make one claim and the process was really simple, and the money was paid out quite quickly. Would definitely recommend! Reviewed on: 29th June 2020

Perfect Purely Pets!!

We have always found Purely Pets easy to deal with. Great customer service and everything explained well, whenever we have needed to make contact with them. Even when we had to dispute a decision on a claim, they listened and indeed it was reviewed and turned around. When needed, they paid up.

My dog, a Westie, needed a major operation and dispite only being with 'Purely Pets' for 5 months, they paid out without any issues or problems. Dogs great and back to full fitness. Reviewed on: 29th June 2020

Amazing work

I've had to claim through Purely Pets for two years now because of an extremely poorly cat. Best value for money

Best value for money when comparing to other companies. I hardly ever need to use my dog insurance, so like the idea of a lower premium with a higher excess to pay should I ever need to claim. Reviewed on: 29th June 2020
