Impossible to get through.

I was keen to make a substantial deposit into my account. For this I need both my account number and sort code. So i printed off my statement which shows an account number but no sort code. I tried phoning, but after hanging on for 45 minutes, gave up. I emailed and was advised that they would get back within a few working days, but also gave out their Newcastle number. On phoning this i was almost immediately put onto the same automated message of the day before. All i want is those details which will allow me to make a deposit. I have requested that someone phone me. What are the chances? I Reviewed on: 10th November 2022

I’m very sorry if you had a long wait time on the telephone or not being able to connect. We’ve kept some very competitively priced accounts on sale for the past two weeks up to this morning. No one on the phone

I have tried to call them twice - They claim they are available on the phone 7 days a week - The first time, I waited for 45 minutes before hanging up. I have now been on the phone for 30 minutes. I don't think there is a single person on the phone. I started at 9am. No indication of queue either. Reviewed on: 10th November 2022

Do not answer the phone or emails

Serious problem with their customer service phone line! I have tried calling a number of times but always in a queue, so today I called at 8.15 in the morning and was on hold for 38 minutes when the phone was cut off! I've sent an email but had an automated response saying they'll get back to me in 4 working days! My linked bank account will not verify the new RCI account and with so many scams going around I'm not prepared to send over £100 to an account or bank that doesnt appear to exist! bad communication

A slip cost me £500!

I mistakenly picked add monthly interest rather than credit yearly on a 1-year Fixed Account. As I took some pension in the same tax year this meant I ended up paying 40% tax on my interest. RCI Bank did NOTHING to help and had NO sympathy (despite the fact I’d had accounts with them for over 4 years!) Also their ‘Freedom’ Account is NOT ‘instant access’. Make a withdrawal on a Saturday and you get the money on a Tuesday. With other banks (eg, Santander, Marcus) the money is transferred IMMEDIATELY (so it’s in your linked account when you log in after withdrawing it). Reviewed on: 25th October 2022

I have used RCI bank for some years now, I have always received excellent service, but what I like the most is when the bank of England increase interest rates RCI follow suit increasing the interest on their Freedom saving account almost straight away. Reviewed on: 1st October 2022

Easy set up, seamless customer service experience

I switched my savings account a couple of years ago, looking for a company that makes it easy to save. With time being the biggest comodity, RCI just make it simple and efficient. When it comes to saving trust is a huge factor and their regular communications make me feel comfortable and secure about having my savings with them. Reviewed on: 2nd April 2022
