Card renewal - bad practice

2 male operatives didn't give the correct information and the female operative tried her best but her boss has not deemed my complaint important enough to get back to me. I received a letter from Saga stating my credit card had expired and to ring them with new details. On giving the details of my card, immediate payment for my car insurance was taken from my bank account.At no time was I told this would happen and no one would cancel the payment which was not due for 3 another 3weeks. I was told to cancel it through my bank .They told me the payment was ",pending "so it couldn't be done and to go back to Saga. This practice should be made clear in their letter or by the operative before taking my card details. It has caused me financial embarrassment and disappointment as well 2hrs on the phone trying to deal with this..I will not be renewing my insurance with Saga next year for sure Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

SAGA. Quick, competent and competitive.

As far as I know THE ONLY company that includes European cover 365. Competitive and easy to deal with. Competent and quick to respond. Cheap? No. You get what you pay for and this is one of the best. Reviewed on: 14th August 2025

I'm staying with Saga

Excellent service, great value car insurance, with all the extras at a favourable price. The only area for improvement might be longer opening hours when calling direct, as '9 till 5' is a bit 'last century' these days. Reviewed on: 14th August 2025
