About this product

Saga offer three levels of car insurance for over 50s – Saga Standard, Saga Select and Saga Plus.

All policies have an uninsured driver promise protecting your no claims discount and no excess to pay if you're hit by an uninsured driver. Depending on the policy, there are extras you can add on to the policy to provide more protection.

Card renewal - bad practice

2 male operatives didn't give the correct information and the female operative tried her best but her boss has not deemed my complaint important enough to get back to me. I received a letter from Saga stating my credit card had expired and to ring them with new details. On giving the details of my card, immediate payment for my car insurance was taken from my bank account.At no time was I told this would happen and no one would cancel the payment which was not due for 3 another 3weeks. I was told to cancel it through my bank .They told me the payment was ",pending "so it couldn't be done and to go back to Saga. This practice should be made clear in their letter or by the operative before taking my card details. It has caused me financial embarrassment and disappointment as well 2hrs on the phone trying to deal with this..I will not be renewing my insurance with Saga next year for sure Reviewed on: 25th April 2023

I have insured my car with Saga for the last 5 years. Each year the renewal process is dealt with over the phone by efficient staff who strive to get the best deal for customers. I obtained a quote from Saga and compared it with my renewal quote from the RAC and found it 40% cheaper plus the premium has been fixed for three years plus I have a £20 voucher to spend. Signing up via the agent was easy who was very helpful. Excellent value & service. Reviewed on: 29th September 2021

Value for money.

I took the Saga Car Insurance because I felt it was value for money and the next 3 years I know exactly how much my insurance will be. Peace of mind knowing that I won’t have to hunt around next year looking for quotes as what I paid this year will be exactly the same for the next 2 years. Reviewed on: 29th September 2021
