Review of the Saga, Car Insurance:

A very responsive Insurer

Always found someone to talk to who was able to answer my question. Generally response time was very quickly. Reviewed on: 30th August 2023

Scam artists

My husband had a saga policy with a fixed price for three years. Fully comp. Unfortunately his credit card had to be canceled while we were on holiday due to fraudulent transactions. A new card was issued. We returned home after three weeks to find a letter dated three weeks ago(received that day) postal strike...that our insurance was cancelled. We rang to explain what had happened and was told we need a new policy and quoted 860.00. We had a fixed deal for three years for 270.00. An increase of almost £500 for nothing...never a claim. Distrusted and will be contacting WATCHDOG RIP OFF BRITAIN. Reviewed on: 5th January 2023

Thieving disgrace. Please read

**STAY AWAY** An absolute nightmare and incompetent company. Please read for your own benefits. I made a non-fault claim back in October when a speeding third-party tried to overtake me and hit my car. It took THREE days of my calling Saga to finally record the details of what happened and claim to be raised. After a WHOLE month and 18 back-to-back emails asking silly questions like: • “how long have you lived at your address”, and • “Do you take the car to work and where do you park it?” Saga failed to obtain the liability from the third-party’s insurer. They did not bother to check the CCTV of shops where the accident occurred. After 2 months of constant pointless calls asking to explain how the accident happened OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN, Saga cancelled on me. I found this out when I called for an update and was told today was my last day, when I asked for an explanation, Saga claimed they sent me a letter 10 days prior — BOLD FACED LIE! Stay away from this company. They might be offering cheaper price and now more than ever everyone is concerned about money but pay the few quid more elsewhere. Reviewed on: 28th December 2022

Luckily I spoke to Holly

It has been a nightmare going from one department to another one with Saga. I notified an incident which was settled privately. The other passagers of the vehicle were visiting from the US so I thought it was better to informed Saga who said that it was not going to be treated a a claim. I submitted the proof to Saga that all was paid and settled : proof of my bank account, invoice of the repair, picture of the vehicle repaired. Even a friendly note from the other driver's vehicle saying thank you. While renewing my policy, I found out that Saga treated my notification as a claim, hence the premium doubled in price. I called several times Saga for a few days. Nobody could solve anything but they were all nice and polite. Luckily after a few days, I spoke to Holly who spoke to her manager, called me back and put my premium down. She also found out that my 10 year NCD had not been properly registered the previous year with Saga! Everything was such a mess. So now I am satisfied with the renewal, however her manager said even if Saga did not pay a penny it will remain as a claim as I notified them. I wish I had not be so honest! Holy was courteous, polite, reassuring but most of all she was Efficient ! And this is what the customer wants, problems to be solved. I think she should train Saga's staff to be more proactive. I canceled my insurance online and also via chat and even phoned *** but still auto renewed my insurance. Its fraud i informed. *** wanted me to provide details of my new insurer. I told them *** as its confidential and also i wanted to sell my car as it was to expensive to run. Avoid these *** for your own peace of mind. The bank got me money back which saga insurance took by fraudulent means. Reviewed on: 12th November 2022

If I could give zero stars I would

If I could give zero stars I would. This is the worst car insurance company that I have had the misfortune to deal with. I made a non-fault claim in May 2022. Saga failed to obtain the liability from the other insurer resulting in me having to pay my excess for the repairs! They lost evidence sent to them. They seem to ignore the fact I had a police car right behind me who provided me with all the details I needed for my claim. I have not been kept updated from Saga, despite their boasts that they do. Saga have appeared to just not care. I have formally complained to them and have now referred the matter to the Financial Ombudsman (as instructed by their own complaints handler!) So much for caring for older people!! Reviewed on: 13th October 2022
