Online banking and security excellent

I've found online banking with this account incredibly easy. Setting up and managing one-off payments, direct debits and standing orders is very quick, as was increasing my overdraft. I also like the fact that Santander will temporarily hold any suspicious (or new) large payments until they've called you to verify they're legitimate. It's an automated voice service but again it's very clear and intuitive. Reviewed on: 10th August 2015

Card machine woes resolved!

My card got trapped in a card machine. I remembered my online Santander account offered me the ability to 'freeze' my card (You could also 'unfreeze' it if found). This disables the card for any unauthorised usage. Its good to have this almost instant control in your hands. This was a new, useful and powerful tool they had introduced. Best app I've used!

Santander's app is very easy to navigate and use online. They have more protective measures than any other bank I used previously to ensure you aren't accidently sending the wrong amount to someone or if you clicked the wrong payer by accident. Reviewed on: 22nd January 2026

Excellent banking service

Very helpful

I have had my mortgage and a few bank accounts with Santander for a good number of years. The communication and use of the app has been so easy. Recently I unfortunately fell for an online payment scam. I called Santander the following morning. 2 days later the money I had 'spent' was back in my account. Reviewed on: 28th July 2025
