Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Best help advisory

I cannot fault all the help I received from step change if I was ever ever to come into extra money I would give to this cause of this charity that help helped me in so many ways myself and my daughter I will forever be eternally grateful. I think I have a few more years left to pay off my debts and then I will be debt free. Reviewed on: 27th May 2026

Life goes on.

Step change really helped me during a very difficult financial time. Debts and overdue notices were arriving rapidly, and they helped me get everything organised and manageable. They arranged affordable monthly payments that allowed me to gradually clear everything. Not disability friendly

Am very disabled and live alone with no help. Stepchange can’t ring me to discuss my review and will not take into account that I can’t go online due to disabilities.
