I turned to step change in 2020 my marriage had bro...

I turned to step change in 2020 my marriage had broken down , and I was left with a lot of debts so I owed about 16000, at the time, iv been able to put all my debts as one payment, so far iv payed just over 6,000 pounds in the last 5 years I'm glad I did turn to step change, they have helped me sort out my debts and now iv been able to sleep at night Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

Take away my money worries

Step change have made a huge difference to my life, when I was receiving threatening letters and phone calls from creditors I was considering taking my own life, it was the only way I could see to get out of the mess my ex husband had left me in. Step change dealt with all the creditors, worked out a monthly budget I could afford and it felt like a huge weight had been lifted. I used to avoid the phone ringing and dread the post arriving but now I feel confident that one day this debt will have been paid. Reviewed on: 4th September 2021

Life saving

I had a school friend who got into debt over his head back in the early 90s and sadly took his life leaving behind a young family. Things can seem pretty hopeless and dark when this happens to you out of the blue. Know that StepChange is there to give you a helping hand and that helping hand saves lives.
