Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

An enormous support in managing my debts

I got into debt when my work dried up. I survived for a couple of months on credit cards. Unsurprisingly I got to the point where I could no longer afford the monthly repayments. Step Change are literally angels

I can’t put into words how amazing Step Change are and how they have helped me and my anxiety. I only wish I had done this sooner. I now feel more in control of my money and life and no longer are terrified looking at my bank account. Every person I have spoken to I literally want to hug and thank them for transforming my life. I am actually enjoying working out my finances which is something I never thought I would say.
