Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Incredibly supportive and kind

Going through debt management was something I really didn’t want to do (who does?) but when it became clear something had to change two people recommended Stepchange - my brother in law who is a business accountant, and one of the lenders I had when I rang about a missed payment. I was so so nervous - and it didn’t help I was diagnosed with cancer at the same time - but I have two say that every single person I spoke to was SO kind and SO helpful. I was never met with judgement or rushed off the phone. It made such a massive difference to me. I was also offered personal support such as the Samaritans and was regularly checked in with to see if I was doing ok mentally. What can I say! Approachable and understanding

I was recommended by a friend to join step change after a lot of stress organising my debts and they were fantastic the process took very little time and they were so informative on what was going to happen and they are so wonderful when talking to advisor very understanding and approachable on anything. Life changing experience

I reached out to step change after a life event left me with debt I couldn’t repay at that level. The process of setting it up and providing creditor details was as smooth as anything They gave me support and advice and I am forever greatful to them. I am in a plan. So helpful and professional

Step change have changed my whole life. We were drowning in debt and my wife was suffering from depression and anxiety. The best move I ever made.

I couldn't sleep,constantly crying,contemplated suicide numeras times, I spoke to stepchange and instantly felt like a ton weight had been lifted off my shoulders, if your in debt,speak to stepchange, your a person to them,not a number,I can not thank them enough,I'm alive to tell the tale thanks to them.
