Pressure release

I was under pressure with debt ( what it seemed never ending). I felt like I had no where to turn to due to being proud and was lucky to work up to early retirement ( due to injury) and was drowning in what I thought was a never ending problem Till I saw Stepchange and read about them I finally pluck up enough courage to phone them. They were not judgmental or harsh talking but made me settle down and I told them my problem ( debt) and soon I felt better just talking to them Eventually we got a plan and they put it into action telling me what it meant and how it worked I must say I feel much better now and not only they got me back on the road to normality but have backed me up and supported me and my wife and kept in touch They said I could get in touch when ever we need to which is very very reassuring I can’t thank them enough. At last I could sleep at nights.

I thought I was in a predicament that was impossible to get out of. Stepchange calmly and professionally guide me to a realistic, practical and manageable solution. Stepchange have since supported, encouraged and informed me throughout my implementation of the plan they arranged for me. At last I was able to sleep and my mental well-being improved exponentially. Invaluable Support! A great Organisation providing a crucial service!

A crucial service that developed a plan for me, enabling me to see a light at the end of the tunnel! I did not want to talk about my difficulties with family or friends as I didn't want to worry anyone and also felt bad about getting into that situation. I felt that there was no one that I could turn to and had many sleepless nights suffering from anxiety. It was such a relief to be able to talk to staff that were non-judgemental, sympathetic and so helpful in developing a repayment plan. I can't thank them enough! Life Saving

My life was turned upside down. I split from my husband I was doing 2 jobs but left one as it was affecting my health and not long after was made redundant from the other. I couldn’t find another job due to COVID-19 (lack of jobs). I didn’t know where to turn. I’m very independent and wanted to sort things out but I couldn’t see a way out. I contacted Stepchange for advice and they were brilliant. The staff were very supportive and helped me find a way to still sort out my finances but took away the mountain I knew I couldn’t climb. I can’t describe in enough words how much they have helped me. I now have another job. Low pay but I’m independent again and continue to live without stress thanks to their ongoing support.
