Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Step Change saved me.

Step Change has always been supportive, not just with financial advice and support but with mental health advice. When I first spoke to an advisor, they asked pertinent questions and then suggested other support available. They listened and empathised putting me at ease. No judgement was ever made. When I got into financial difficulties and could no longer keep up with my monthly bills, I became worried, anxious and lost my peace of mind. I was referred to Step Change to seek for help and advice, which I Immediately did. Trust me, within a few weeks of advice and guidance that I received from Step Change, all my fears and anxiety were laid to rest and I got back my peace of mind. Try them, they are really good.
