Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

you done a great help out with the Debt problem until i contacted your step change debt charity - the creditor were heavy harassment at me all the time until i contacted your step change and your great team was very helpful to sort out a payment plan that was done - 5 creditor now have 3 creditor left nearly to Go Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

I was scared, overwhelmed and had no idea where to turn with the situation I was in. I called and there was no judgment, they were so patient explaining my options and the impact it would have on my credit score etc. I felt listened to and was just so grateful. Every time I call to speak to someone they’re kind, patient and so friendly. I have now finished my DMP and they congratulated me and it was just lovely.
