Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

When stuck financially turn to Step Change for help!

When I was in financial difficulty I didn’t know where to turn for help and I’m so glad someone suggested Step Change. They were able to help without judgement and the process was fast and simple and now the debts are being paid at a rate I can afford so all we are all a lot happier and free to live our lives. Step change helped in what i thought was a hopeless...

Step change helped in what i thought was a hopeless situation . They relieved the burden by negotiating with my creditors stopping all those letters !! I pay off a manageable amount every month, there is no judgement just solid practical advice Reviewed on: 27th May 2026

Wonderful team and service !

I contacted step change when I was struggling financially and was dealing with severe stress because of this , The team have been wonderful and I will be forever grateful how they handled my call(with no judgement) and subsequently how they have helped me manage my debts . Invaluable help and advice

Long and difficult process, unable to get hold of an...

Long and difficult process, unable to get hold of anyone when you call. My debt is now so much worse because nothing is in place since January. It was a huge decision to go down this path but I now just feel let down and less in control than before Reviewed on: 27th May 2026
