Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Amazingly helpful and reassuring.

I had to stop working due to many health problems, and was worried even more sick by my financial situation as a result. Step Change were so reassuring and helpful. They put my mind at ease, and have helped further during benefit changes due to government set backs. All members of staff had been so kind and well informed. When I contacted step changes I was at my whits end and couldn’t see a way out. I couldn’t afford food trying to keep up with debt payments, left to me after a failed relationship. I contacted step changes and the lady I spoke to was amazing I felt ashamed she reassured me. We got an affordable plan together the balifs stopped coming the debt letters and rising interest stopped. I have never missed a payment in 18 years and in August I will be debt free. honestly guys if you are in my position give them a ring, I honestly would have lost my home and possibly my life without their help. When I first realised I was in financial difficulty...

When I first realised I was in financial difficulty I looked for help and found Step Change. I can say how much they have changed my life .They took on board my circumstances and put a payment plan in force for me . I had huge credit card debts and I wanted to retire. This payment plan has secured my retirement and I will be debt free by Feb 26 . They dealt with my credit card companies and are there at the end of the phone or email. I wouldn't be where i am today if I hadn't taken a deep breath and called them . They didn't shame me unlike some of my card companies. I recommend them to anyone who has financial difficulties.
