Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

2008 the great crash

2008 during the great crash i basically lost my business and everythng that my income supported. Stepchange was there and helped me avoid bankrupcy and dealt with my creditors on my behalf taking the majority of stress off me. 18 years later they are still behind me helping when they feel i need it! Not sure what I would have done without Step change, they have really turned my situation around. I was embarrassed and struggling every day with repayments and lack of funds after everything was paid massively affecting my mental and physical health. I am Eternally grateful. Great service !

StepChange has been a life saver for me. They helped me when I was at my lowest financially and mentally. They stepped in and advocated for me and saved me from directly dealing with the lenders. Step change are amazing 10/10

I got myself in a financial mess, and turning to stepchange for help and advice was the best decision I've ever made. It was so incredibly easy I thought I was missing something.
