Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

CHANGED MY LIFE

I was in a desperate state with dept contemplating terrible things. I had thought about calling stepchange but was too embarrassed by the situation I had let myself get to with debt. I'm so glad I picked up that phone! It was answered by a wonderful lady who reassured me throught my tears and anxiety that she was here to help and to try to get things better for me to manage. We talked through all my dept and she sent some forms to complete. Within a few weeks my dept management plan was in place. I set up my direct debit to stepchange and they distributed to my debtors.
