Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Fantastic service

Step Change are marvellous. They help you when you're at your lowest so that you can see a way forward. Their advisers are very good at putting you at ease. There admin is also excellent as everything they say the'll do is concluded quickly. Overall a fantastic service. Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

Step change helped me with my finances when everything started to get on top of me. I felt I was going under with no where to turn. Then I contacted step change. They helped me with one monthly payment with what I could afford they do a budget plan for you with no pressure and the customer service was excellent so easy to talk to. I would highly recommend. Was apprehensive at first and scared , owning up to how much debt I was in Was overwhelmed by it all burying head in sand, but from the start I was put at ease, never thought would be accepted , but we did and everything was explained and to know I had help . I contacted Stepchange when I was literally overwhelmed and could no longer make even the minimum payments on my debt. Straight away they started to help with no judgment at all. They got in touch with my creditors, sorted out my budget and arranged my repayments with no interest at all so I could actually clear the debt. A way of managing debts.
