Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Stepchange have saved my life

I got myself into a world of debt which was completely unmanageable. My mental health was on the floor and I could see no way out. I found the courage to reach out to Stepchange 2ho were sympathetic from the start and sorted my finances with all of my creditors. Having always lived with Debt, it became unmanageable after a relationship break down, Stepchange relieved that pressure on me, arranging all repayments with lenders and helping me structure my budget appropriately. When my circumstances changed, it was seamless to speak with Stepchange and change my repayments to suit my new budget. In two years I will be completely debt-free for the first time in around 20years, this is all down to Stepchange. Reviewed on: 27th May 2026
