Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Amazing service - forever grateful .

For various reasons we got ourselves into a financial mess, after researching our options we contacted Step Change. From that first contact there was no judgement just help, Step Change contacted all the companies we owed money to and arranged an affordable 5 year repayment plan. The relief we felt when this plan was put in place was immense. We are now 2 years into that plan and are looking forward to being debt free in another 3 years. This would not of been do-able without Step Change and we will forever be grateful to them for their help and advice. Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

Stepchange helped me through one of the hardest time...

Stepchange helped me through one of the hardest times in my life. They were so knowledgeable on what I needed to do next and really. changed the direction my life was heading. There was judgement just strong practical advice and a proper understanding when I thought mine would be the only time they’d heard such a story. They advised how to put a proper plan into place and fully explained the options and what to expect in the future. I’ve stuck with this plan and I’ve been paying my debts off for many years but I’ve never looked back and I know any queries or questions I can get in touch with Stepchange and they’d be there for me. I’d like to say a massive thanks to two ladies who dealt with me on the first two calls not sure on their names one was from stepchange first part of the step change then a lady who did the debt plan budget they both made me feel relax and trust them in what they whee doing as I was so nervous upset. They made it easy to understand and took their time with me I’m so greatful I’m looking forward to my first payment going out on 10th June I feel for now a big Hugh’s weight of my shoulders and able to live again now have the budget to do so from what they set out for me I’ve set the budget in to place all ready thank you so much two the the first two ladies who dealt with me.
