Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Help at the right time

I felt I was loosing my grip on our finances after s...

I felt I was loosing my grip on our finances after suffering four major setbacks in a row. Panic doesn’t go far enough to explain how I felt. Then I talked to Stepchange and everything changed, they helped with friendly, non judgemental, advice and support. Suddenly we were in calmer waters, the “switching off” of the constant creditor phone calls and letters gave me time to workout a sensible budget with Stepchange and to feel I was taking back control. I dread to think what would have happened if we hadn’t found Stepchange, I couldn’t have managed without them. Stepchange gave me a lifeline

I didn’t know what options were available to me. I’d got too much into debt and with all my bills going up I couldn’t afford the repayments. Step change guided me through everything, contacted my creditors and helped me agree an affordable repayment plan. Paying my debtors through stepchange the debt charity

I started with s.change in 2019.through my money they've been paying off my debtors since then.im more than happy to review the good work they do.the only condition is have to review your budget once a year and they contact your debtors on your behalf and what ever you pay them every month they share it out to the various companies you owe money too.
