Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Dealing with debt is stressfull

Dealing with debt is stressful and overwhelming. From the first call to setting up the DMP was stress free and lifted a weight of our minds. Outstanding organisation

Paying interest to clearing my debt in 4 yaars

4 years ago I was no where near figuring out how to solve my financial issues. Amongst other charities I got to know about stepchange and one phone call helped me to get it all started. After initial paperwork everything was done by stepchange dealing with banks and providers. All I had to do was send a few copies of letters received by banks etc. to keep them in the loop. Once things started rolling for few months I didn't need to do anything. Direct debit payment to stepchange was the only thing I needed to keep on top. Hopefully I'm 3 months I'll be fully debt free.
