Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

No more "less than friendly" letters and phone calls.

Prior to adopting Step Change i was in that downward spiral of stress and anxiety, sleepless nights and constant worry. Messages going to debt collectors. Endless, less than friendly letters and telephone calls. Step change stopped all that instantly, organising my finances and making a plan. They communicated the plan to debtors so no more negative post and letters. One carefully calculated payment to StepChange each month and no more hassle. I have a year left and i will be debt free! Its easier than you think to get peace of mind.

Very easy to talk to took me through everything step by step, when unexpected expenses occured negotiated with debtors and stopped me worrying. Thoght I was trappped for years now I have just under 2 years of the 3 quoted to go before I am debt free. When car was needing replacement I was still able to get finance externally to replace it.
