Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I hit a point where everything became financially difficult and didn't know how to deal with it. I contacted step change and they walked me through every step of setting up a plan to pay my creditors and manage my money. They keep in regular contact, are there should things change for better or worse to give advice on what to do. So grateful. They do not judge or criticise and understood my position. Thank you. Thank you step change

I had debs of around £6000 and was struggling each month to make ends meet. I was borrowing money to pay debt and digging myself into a hole I struggled to get out of. Step change contacted my creditors and arranged an affordable combined monthly payment for myself. Without step change I don't know where is be today.
