I turned to step change in 2020 my marriage had broken down , and I was left with a lot of debts so I owed about 16000, at the time, iv been able to put all my debts as one payment, so far iv payed just over 6,000 pounds in the last 5 years I'm glad I did turn to step change, they have helped me sort out my debts and now iv been able to sleep at night Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

No way out?? Yes there is.

I was lost, drowning in debt with no way out. Once I contacted step change the advisor was a friendly ear and helped me both emotionally and financially. I felt shame and anger at myself for letting my situation get the better of me. Now I’m debt free having paid all my creditors back everything I owed. Step change were able to stop more interest being added to my debts and sorted a payment plan out for me and became the intermediary between my creditors and me. Reviewed on: 1st May 2024

StepChange Saved the Day!!

My debts were spiralling out of control, particularly with the addition of high interest rates. I didn’t know which way to turn and then thankfully I heard about StepChange. They were absolutely invaluable with their help in working out a realistic payment plan for me with the debtors. It was such a relief to be able to talk to someone about it as I hadn’t told family or friends about my situation. I was working more than full-time hours but struggling to keep my head above water, just to pay for basic living costs. They were very understanding.
