It was absolutely fantastic help from start to finish.

It was absolutely fantastic help from start to finish. It took 8 days in total. I'm sitting here now a lot happier than I was 3 weeks ago. They put me forward (against their recommendation) for a DRO, which was passed 2 weeks ago, and because I have their backing, I have been able to liaise with my creditors a lot easier, and they have actually helped me due to my underlying health issues. Thank you to them all from Stepchange and also Money Wellness (the people who organised my finances and submitted my DRO application) From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. I felt like there was no light at the end of the tunnel

I was inundated with debts from quick loans, unpaid overdrafts and credit cards during a long period of unemployment, but using StepChange has helped me recover, slowly but surely. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who feels there's no light at the end of the tunnel. Now that I'm working, I can increase my repayments! Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

As a debtor attempting to cope with creditors and stress at a difficult time in my life Stepchange made all the difference. The well structured procedures of this experienced charity are clearly well respected by creditors generally so inspire confidence, and provide time and space to manage and achieve a better outcome. Their support and individual attention to my circumstances exceeded expectations and enabled me to find a way through my difficulties, first by advice, then through a debt management plan and finally through their settlement service. Great Service

The advisors were calm, polite, and genuinely understanding. From the moment the conversation started, they made me feel at ease and reassured me that I wasn’t being judged. What stood out the most was how open they were about their own experiences they even shared personal testimonies about situations they had faced and how debt management had helped them regain control. Hearing their stories made a huge difference. It reminded me that I wasn’t alone in this, and that many others had faced similar struggles and come through them successfully. Their empathy and honesty helped break down the stigma around financial difficulty and encouraged me to be honest about my own situation. When I was in serious debt over £20,000 I had no one...

When I was in serious debt over £20,000 I had no one to turn to. I felt ashamed, overwhelmed and hopeless. I heard an ad for step change on the radio and I made the initial call. Straight away from that first night in September 2021 I felt there was hope. For the first time in years I was being proactive.I felt so much support. Once Step Change stepped in most of my lenders became understanding and supportive too. now in June 2025 I’m debt free with only one default on credit file (Halifax £750 although all was repaid) my other lenders supported me and didn’t hold it against me. . Now I’m debt free with a credit rating of 909!!! I can’t praise Step Change enough. They really are an amazing charity!!! Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025
