I was a nervous wreck with debts piling up after being made redundant. Stepchange was recommended by a family member and it was the best thing I ever did. They talked me through everything and set up a manageable payment scheme. Reviewed on: 19th May 2024

A helpful charity. Kind staff on helpline.

I was struggling with monthly payments and found Stepchange. Yes it’s helpful but I feel a bit vulnerable without credit cards and really struggled with car expenses when my car failed its mot. Get as much money behind you as you can before signing up with a debt charity (that seems strange) but it’s helped me a little. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

Overall a great service from Step Change.

I did have a big problem earlier in the process with step change because they initially sent me down the wrong debt management route. This was later corrected by another employee, and this time things went smoothly. Despite this problem, the staff at step change were friendly, understanding and very easy to deal with.
