Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

I thought my career was ended due to debt

I came to step change in need. Bills piling up and thinking bankruptcy was the only way to go. This would have meant losing my job. They helped me secure an agreement with lenders to lower interest rates, monthly payments and extend my borrowing time so I Dident have to throw my career away. I’m incredibly thankful for all you’ve done. You’ve allowed me to keep my much loved job, repay what I owe on mutually agreeable terms. Thank you step change Reviewed on: 27th May 2026

I could not thank StepChange enough.

I could not thank StepChange enough. My debts were out of control and I was spiralling. After filling in an online form about my debts, it has been smooth sailing ever since.
