Dare to hope,!

I have been very ill with cancer. During my treatments I took my eye off the ball as the saying goes. Was too ill to deal with post and many many calls from people demanding money. I was becoming paranoid about the phone,the postman. Well debts don’t go away I didn’t know where or who to turn to, my life was such a mess, I was even contemplating ending it all. A friend came here and said why don’t we ring Stepchange the debt charity. I had nothing to lose but from that very first call, they made me feel like we can sort this out together and took me through every single step. Every person I spoke with was efficient,nothing was too much trouble, kind and compassionate. Made me feel like perhaps I could live a life. Am not the only person this happens to. Quite a bit of paperwork which I found daunting but even if I was stuck on silly questions I always got a real person to speak with. I can’t praise them high enough Reviewed on: 27th August 2024

Debt is often unspoken.

Debt is often something we don't talk about. However, now that more people are struggling it's a topic that is easier to approach. Personally, it's a very difficult subject to talk about with friends and family. Which is why despite the great service received I couldn't recommend without being asked directly. Glad I contacted StepChange best thing I've ever done.

I was so nervous contacting StepChange at first but I am so glad I did. They are so helpful kind and caring. Never judged me and put a plan in place which has really helped me over the last 4 years. My debt was spiralling out of control but now I can actually sleeping at night not worrying about how am I going to find the money to pay.
