I turned to step change in 2020 my marriage had bro...

I turned to step change in 2020 my marriage had broken down , and I was left with a lot of debts so I owed about 16000, at the time, iv been able to put all my debts as one payment, so far iv payed just over 6,000 pounds in the last 5 years I'm glad I did turn to step change, they have helped me sort out my debts and now iv been able to sleep at night Reviewed on: 24th May 2025

Help with the management of debt

After finding myself in a situation with mounting debt and suffering with severe anxiety, I came to a point where I could see no way forward. i contacted Step Change who helped me set up a DMP, this was set up and in place within a week, I cannot thank them enough. My DMP has been in place for 6 months now and i cannot express enough how this has helped me, The peace of mind that this has given me - we there are no words. i can now see a way forward, I will have repaid all of my debts in just under 4 years - this wouldn't have been possible without Step Change. Unbeatable Service

I suffer with Bipolar disorder and ADHD and step change have helped me in ways I could not get down in this review. Outstanding support

Earlier this year I left an abusive relationship, I was lost, I was ashamed, I didn’t know where to turn. The embarrassment of the economic abuse made me feel like I was to blame so for many months I struggled trying to pay back loans I’d not taken. When I finally realised I needed help I was referred to step change. They listened, they understood and for the first time I felt like I wasn’t being judged. They took the time to go over my options. I had put off seeking help, my sister encouraged me to make the first move. I have not looked back since.
