Car Insurance Car Insurance, The worst company ever to deal with, keep on harassing by sending emails and letters with stupid demands and asking you to call them. Will never use this company again and would not recommend any one to get in their trap. Reviewed on: 25th March 2023

Utterly useless

After a number of years with my previous insurer I changed to Tesco, as they were the most reasonable quote. Unfortunately, on the 14/2 I was hit by an ambulance whilst my car was parked outside a friend’s house. The driver knocked on the door and apologised admitting what he’d done. Both him and his colleague gave me their details, photos were taken of the accident and the incident was logged a manager in the ambulance department. This should have been a very straightforward case to resolve. As all liability was admitted and my vehicle was parked in a quiet residential street. However, 6 weeks later and after a number of phone calls from the company who have organised the repairs, only now am I looking to get the work completed on my driveway. All the customer service staff I have spoken to have been rude and defensive in their manner. The company they allocated to organise the work to be completed, organised 2 companies to be in contact with me. As airline crew I’m away out of the country on a regular basis. However despite advising them when I was off, they sent out a damage assessor whilst I was out of the country. What was worse, it wasn’t even the company that was carrying out the work. To this time we don’t know who this company were. I have to say, the fact that Tesco is a broker and so the insurers that act in their behalf are where the problems start. As the works are carried out by a third party. I also have had issues organising car hire which I’ve paid for in my insurance, as they were initially unhappy about my vehicle being parked in an airport car park. I initially had problems ascertaining, who and when would be carrying out the work to my vehicle. There were only 2 options available to me for companies available within a 30 mile radius, one of which would have involved me delivering the vehicle myself. So having the work carried out on my driveway was the only option that I had, if I wanted the damage to my car to be repaired. There is a list of things I could mention of why I would not use Tesco insurance. STAY AWAY!! Reviewed on: 19th March 2023

Avoid avoid avoid

I made the intake of using Tesco to insure my vehicle. They are happy to take payment and promise a high level of customer service and care- as long as you don’t need to use them. I had to claim on my insurance, it’s taken them 5 month to sort out the repair. The communication is awful, no responses can’t get through on the line, unless you’re happy to wait 30-45 minutes on hold. Then after all the messing around, delays and terrible service, a ‘sorry’ is all they will give me- via letter. Do not use Tesco for car insurance! Reviewed on: 8th March 2023

I have rung numerous of times to cancel my insurance, poor service, misleading - was told i would get my monthly premium refunded back as i cancelled it on the day it went out and never got reimbursed, after calling again i now have to pay an additional cost and have been told i know wont be having any money refunded back. Said i drove into the rear of a car

when i signed up with a car had pulled in front of me and i hit his side door in 4 feb 2018 no body was hurt my policy number is 8314819x and was with them a while i had a letter from them thanking me for informing them of an accident i had i rang them they said a lady had said i hit her car on the side i said was it on the norton road she said yes i told her i had not hit her car and went to the place it happened there was a bus lane and 24 hour camera with a telephone number on it i took photos of it and drawed a plane of the road and my car and her car she had dove alongside me trying to get me into the bus lann and follewd me i had been for a blood test at the doctors at no time did i hit her car but was told at first i had hit her side and forced her into the kerb which was a lye like i said i sent loads of photo to tesco to show i was not at fault they sent a man out to check my car and he found nothing wrong with it they sent me a reminder about renewing my insurance with them i had 5 years no claim discount when i was joined them but my renewal say i hit the third party car ion the rear on the 19 of april 2022 and i have 3 points now there is no damage to the front of my car and i was not in a crash on that date with any car they can take my car to any garage they want when i rang them today and spoke to a lady she said they had got all the photo i had sent in but where writing to the lady insurance find out what damage there is to her car i said if you want i can bring my car to you she said no it would be a garage that would check to see if my car had been in a crash so why are they charging me more this year and only giving me 3 year no claims instead of 5 years they are the worst of the lot Reviewed on: 7th March 2023

Absolute nightmare!!!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! My wife was insured through Tesco. Had a fender bender, new bumper and bonnet needed. No structural damage, confirmed by mechanic. Tesco's took almost 2 weeks to assess the damage, during which she was told twice it would be cat c and could go ahead with repairs. Got repairs done and an MOT to prove roadworthiness only to be told it was cat b and is considered unroadworthy, all from some photos.... refusing to reassess, Customer service appalling. We've spent a fortune on cabs to get to work whilst waiting for a response, God knows how many phonecalls, gone ahead with repairs as agreed on 2 calls and now we're being told it's unroadworthy and we cannot drive it. DO NOT INSURE WITH TESCO!!! Reviewed on: 3rd March 2023
