Avoid... tesco won't refund money owed

Awful attitude when ending insurance due to car sale. I paid for a full years insurance. They refuse to refund monies owed by cheque. Will only send funds to an account which they know no longer exists. Complete joke. Will never use again due to poor service. Reviewed on: 12th March 2019

Accident claim solved within 5 working days

Tesco provides excellent customer service. My car got wrecked by third party, they wrote my car off on Monday and got payed out on Wednesday. The whole process took only 5 working days. They are very helpful, provide excellent customer service and always there when you need them. Recommend it to everyone! Reviewed on: 27th February 2019

Avoid at all costs

Tesco Box Insurance - wouldn't ever shop with Tesco again for this reason. Took out a 6000 mile policy and have been paying for Top up miles as job circumstances changed and needed to drive more miles... worked out how much I've paid totalling £2,300!!! Rang to cancel and for a refund of the 6 months cover I haven't used and Tesco claim I've paid for my 6000 miles policy and as gone over I'm not due any refund. So in total I've paid £2,300 for 6 months car insurance!!!! Absolute scam. Do NOT get Tesco Box Insurance. Reviewed on: 21st January 2019

Trouble-free with Tesco

Started a new policy with Tesco in May 18. Brilliant price, I had just acquired my 1 years no claim and the price they offered was half what I was paying previously and 1/4 cheaper than all the other providers. 8 hours into my new policy.... I crashed... All my fault, I was terrified of calling them, I could only imagine what they would be thinking..... 8 HOURS!!! I couldn't have been more wrong!!! They were amazing, cannot even begin to explain how fabulous they were! Their first question was, are you OK?! I profusely apologised for the whole situation and was told to not give it a second thought, that was what they were there for. My car had minimal damage but they insisted on it being repaired straight away and had me a courtesy car out that same day (my neighbour who I crashed into had insisted on dealing with his own insurance company as he wanted main dealer repair had a 2 week wait before his courtesy car came). They processed the claim so quickly and 2 days later they rang to check again that me and my children were OK following on from the incident. Even when my car was being repaired and I couldn't afford to pay the garage the excess (monthly wage), Tesco rang them and arranged that they would 'take their time' with the repair to give me extra time to get the money together. I had the courtesy car for 3 weeks! My renewal is up in 3 months and I can't wait to renew again with Tesco. Reviewed on: 11th January 2019

AVOID!

Did not alert me at all that a claim was made against my vehicle, causing me a lot of difficulty in renewing my insurance and finding out I would have to pay hundreds of pounds more than originally planned. When complaining about this, I was told that "in an ideal world we would've, but we didn't" ABSOLUTELY FUMING!!!! Reviewed on: 9th January 2019

falsifying mileage data, 0 communication. after an accident although they say 'inform us asap' blah this blah that. these idiots responded almost 2 weeks later and only because the other party had informed them about the accident threatening me that i had not informed them. never mind me their friggin customer who informed them via phone, live chat and even email on the day shortly after the incident. their response to this was as follows ' It was not until the call on 31 August 2016, as well as the complaint investigation, where your attempts to contact our Claims Department were found. Again, I can only apologise for this.' 5 complaints later they had not changed. Their so called managers could not answer simple questions . cancelled policy. then 2 years later when i've moved on with my life happy that i never have to dealt garbage like this ever again. i find out they have kept my account open without informing me and oh apparently i now owe them over 800 pounds. *sigh* 6th complaint. next stop fos. Think Twice

Terrible service. After a car crash which wasn't my fault, the car went in for repair @ one of Tesco's approved garages. The worst garage I've ever come across... Ever! Car is deemed not safe to drive by the RAC & they tell me it's nothing to do with them anymore...? Engineer was rude, ignorant and patronising. I would urge anyone to think twice before taking out insurance with this disgusting company. They are lovely whilst taking your money, but when it comes to them helping you... It's a different story.
